Finger Lakes Finns Awarded Grants Several organizations received funding when the Tompkins County legislators approved tourism development grants at their April meeting. These funds are derived from the room occupancy tax grant fund. The organizations receiving room tax money were recommended by the Strategic Tourism Planning Board. One of the categories was tourism development in which our organization applied for funds to be used in our plans for Finn Funn Weekend. The other grant our organization received was from Suomen Seura r.y. in Helsinki, Finland. The Finland Society’s Board of Directors granted this award for the purpose of bringing two individuals from Finland for our Finn Funn Weekend. We are very proud of both awards and hope that everyone will be able to attend this special weekend. |
