Winter Scenes

Snow blows,
Drifting
Crossing roads and fields
Sifting around trees
Covering shrubs.
Corn stubble
Stubbornly pokes above.
Snow plows,
Our Pleistocene beasts,
Snort and scrape highways
Fighting north winds, artic weather.
Is that distant vision
Spring?
